A contract for the purchase of nine sets of axle assemblies has been signed

On 10 November 2017, a contract was signed for the purchase of nine sets of axle assemblies for electric locomotives of series 1 141 and 1 142, owned by HŽ Passenger Transport. The contract was signed by the President of the Management Board of HŽ Putnički prijevoz mr. Sc. Željko Ukić and members of the Management Board Mladen Lugarić and Damir Rubčić and Management Board member Đuro Đaković Machining Hrvoje Kekez. The contract is funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) loan.

The total value of the contract is 2.194.200,00 HRK without VAT. The axle assemblies from this contract will be used as an aggregate replacement, which will increase the efficiency of the business, ie reduce the time of the non-traffic locomotive retention. The contract defines the delivery of goods within 120 days.

Upon signing the contract, Željko Ukić pointed out:

This is the seventh contract we sign for the modernization of the HŽ Putnički Prijevoz fleet, for which the funds are secured by the IBRD loan. Vehicle maintenance is an extremely important business segment. The total value of investments under these contracts is almost 72 million HRK. I am most delighted with the fact that this job has also been gained by the home industry, which gives an extra contribution to the Croatian economy. HŽ PP will continue to invest in the modernization of the fleet to ensure the best quality of service.

Hrvoje Kekez pointed out:

For more than 40 years, our company has been producing and maintaining axle assemblies and I am pleased that our expertise in this business has met all the requirements of this HŽ Traveling Contest. Although we work for other markets in Europe, we are looking forward to manufacturing for home companies and we hope that we will work equally successfully in the future.

As part of the IBRD loan to finance the Sustainable Development Project of the Croatian Railway Sector, the beneficiary of which is HŽ Passenger Transport, a fleet renewal is also funded to improve its efficiency. The total amount of loan for HŽ Travel Service is 43 million euros.
